That Time I Became a Human Barbell

You see in the gym one moment I’m super macho and the next I turn into a wrinkled balloon. And, which is not the provoking part, why am I on the treadmill for an hour only to get a pump-length is as short as one will say goodbye in a Snapchat streak? And oh, my genius, who did you plan to work with puffing in the name of “work out the pump”? It sounds like a kind of sneaker and is more about making the muscles inflate. They should have named it “muscle magic” because it is the same as the motivation going out on a Monday! Again, why does this muscle magic fade so quickly? It’s all about blood flow, folks. As I do my workout, I rub my muscles through the blood and nutrients, what’s more, they show up as big and beefy. However, once the pumping is over, the effect diminishes at a speed even faster than a beach ball being deflated at a porcupine’s party.

Now, if I was like me, I would maybe be saying, “Is it possible to own a pump forever?” Well, I am likely to do so, but it would essentially mean keeping a balloon inflated through the power of singing to it.

Relax, even if you did it wouldn’t succeed! So, what did I learn today? The pump in this case, is but an illusive instant of muscle mastery, a desert mirage of gym life.

The machine has been a king of my self-esteem, but all of a sudden it has disappeared as my last diet plan.

Nevertheless, I go back again and again, because you and I both know we love to see the big muscles, even if we will only get a picture for Instagram.

The start of it all being a humorous activity, now I had to be lifted which was even more confusing to think something like that could happen. The next time, “I’ll be open for business only if you’re ready to give me two protein shakes for one lift.
